Description
NOISE MAN is a noise generator for testing. It puts out five colours of noise, all at the same level, so you can check filters, EQs, spectrum analysers and modular gear such as Buchla 295/296 style filter banks. You can also use it as a sound in its own right, for risers, hats and textures.

Features
- Color — White / Pink / Brown / Blue / Violet (0 / −3 / −6 / +3 / +6 dB/oct)
- Same level for every colour — all colours sit at −18 dBFS RMS, so switching colour never changes the loudness reference
- HPF / LPF — 24 dB/oct band-limit filters, for sending noise into one band only
- Gate — RUN (always on) / MIDI (plays only while a note is held, for burst tests) / MUTE, with click-free fades
- Stereo — independent noise on left and right (uncorrelated), or the same noise on both (mono)
- Spectrum — built-in spectrum display (log frequency, 20 Hz – 20 kHz)
- Level — output fader with meter
Requirements
Ableton Live 11.3 or later / Live 12 with Max for Live (Suite, or Standard + Max for Live). Windows / macOS.
Tested with Live 12.4.6 and Max 9.1.5.
